This shit in popular right now? Atrocious.

We started our screenplay contest today. Two weeks to write a 10 minute bit of film based on the prompt "the first scene must take place in a bathroom". Weird specifications but I'm sure it will make for some good stories. I'm not too confident in my screenwriting abilities. That's what college is for, right? Fuuu I have to take two classes on this shit. Better get started.

explosions in the sky - all of a sudden i miss everyone
explosions in the sky - how strange, innocence

This band will be the only thing to get me through this contest, let alone film school...

Blakeley wrote me a letter in Hobbit Runes. Now that is love.

Made a nice tofurkey dinner for everyone today. Yum yum yum. Making your own "baste" or whatever is so much fun. The recipe on the box isn't very good anyways. I used: olive oil, balsamic vinegar, fresh garlic in chunks, garlic powder, thyme, basil, oregano, sage, salt, pepper, and a tiny bit of soy sauce. I thought it was pretty good and the entire thing got eaten in 10 minutes, so.... Success!

I'm being Ness for Halloween (from Earthbound and/or Super Smash Bros). I need some help finding my costume, but there's still a bit of time to figure it all out. Not worried about it.

I'm psyched to die.
Deep Wound - Almost Complete
Iron Age - Constant Struggle
Leeway - Born to Expire

The Times They Are A-Changin'
Nashville Skyline

Been hiding out in my room the last few days. It's good to get some alone time. I love fall. The weather is beginning to change already and I am absolutely psyched. Halloween is my favorite time of year. It sucks that a lot of people my age are moving away and "growing up". Oh well, I guess. Only the diehard remain.... hahaha

Word on the street is that HPP is on hiatus. I'm hoping this isn't indefinite. Good band, good dudes. Hope Dillon gets his shit figured out.

In other news:
You can find Converge's discography here

And this was my outfit today. I know it is completely dorky to post an outfit in a blog (ugh) but whatever. I liked what I was wearing for once! Why not? I did not wear those shoes though, hahaha. Note how one bow has fallen off...

The other day Blakeley, Jeff, Bryan, Heather, Malia and I participated in an event called the "Tour de Franzia". Which is very much like the Tour de France, but in Olympia, Washington. And with boxed wine... The basic point of the event is to get as many people together as possible, share one box of wine at each stop (8 litres), and try to make it to the end. The problem lies in the stops. They are every half mile. So everyone is COMPLETELY wasted before we even get close to downtown. Anyways, Blakeley fell and hit her face after the third stop. She has several facial fractures. Super gnarly.

That was right after the accident, so the black eye/huge bruises hadn't showed up yet. Pretty wild. Can not wait for Tour de Franzia '10.

My other half, Chloè, has been staying with me for a few days. It's been fab. My uncle moves out tomorrow! He has been crashing on my couch for 10 months. About time he got his 56 year old ass out of my living room! anyways, here is what I've been listening to lately. I realize that some of it is terrible. Guilty pleasures... you know how it is. I am still twelve years old...

Blink-182 - Cheshire Cat
Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains
Built to Spill - Keep it Like a Secret
Descendents - Milo Goes to College
Fugazi - Steady Diet of Nothing
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom

The heat is killing me! 90 degrees is far too hot. Washington should rain, snow, mist, fog, and breeze. TOO HOT.

This is a painting, not a photo. Gregory Thiekler is amazing. I have been trying to watch more movies lately, seeing as I am going to film school and I am clueless on the subject. The Time Traveler's Wife, The Ugly Truth, Funny People; all terrible. I liked 500 Days of Summer, although a lot of it was cheesy. I don't want to make terrible movies like all the ones I have seen in the last 5 years. If I end up making one of these shit-fests, I will be so bummed on myself.

Anyways, I made a mix for Blakeley the other day. Here is the track listing for "Cry to me volume 1":

1. Brand New - Play Crack the Sky
2. Elliott Smith - Pitseleh
3. Chris Garneau - Between the Bars (E. Smith)
4. Jason Molina - No Moon on the Water
5. Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton - Our Hell
6. Madeline - The Piece that Fits
7. American Football - Never Meant
8. Gregory and the Hawk - The Bolder Thing to do
9. Elliott Smith - These Days (Nico)
10. Jason Molina - Get Out Get Out Get Out
11. Owen - Who Found Who's Hair in Who's Bed
12. The Honorary Title - Everything I once had
13. The Postal Service - Be Still My Heart
14. All Time Quarterback - Underwater
15. Modest Mouse - Polar Opposites
16. The Good Life - Inmates

Crazy: This morning, Emily went missing. Apparently she never made it home last night from Sarah's birthday party. A little 125 pound girl on a motorcycle in the middle of the night, oh lord. Obviously, I'm freaking out. But Caiti has my car and won't answer the phone. I'm calling everyone I know, making a check list of where she has been/could be now. Very stressful. So I assume that she has either died or stayed the night at Sarah's. I ask some people for rides, everyone says no. Which is weird sort of. I go over to Dillon's and he says she left the party, there's no way she stayed the night there. So now I am assuming that my best friend is dead. I call her mom again. Mom says "Oh yeah, weird misunderstanding. She's here now."

Worst morning ever! I went over to Emily's just to make sure, hahaha. I hate worrying.

Music I listen to when stressed out:
Xiu Xiu - Fabulous Muscles
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
Cap'n Jazz - Analphabetapolotholothology disc 1

Anyways, Brand New is coming out with a new album called "Daisy". They released a song today. SO FUCKING PSYCHED. Brand New is my favorite band of all time. I am a huge nerdario. You can listen to the new song here. It is so fucking good. Guhh, this band melts my heart.

Back from California! So fudging wild. My car broke down twice, but we made it to Sound and Fury on time. LA is raging. So much clubbing! So many celebrities! I seriously love my car-full of friends. Dillon was an excellent addition. Stayed in Redding at the Separation's house. Best dudes around. Sort of sad to be home. Glad to end summer on such a good note.

Wild stories:
-During Trash Talk, Emily did a roof-dive. Almost watched my BFF die. So awesome.
-During On, we had party noise blowers, and some dude punched me in the face because I was being so annoying. Haahaha.
-Dude from Bad Seed got stabbed.
-Partied on the beach with Anthony Hale. He gave Nicole mosh lessons.
-After S&F, the B9 had a "missed connections" thread. We posted one as Dillon to Martine (some internet famous girl with the same chest piece as him). Shit got wild real fast. (HA)
-Lots of wild late night walks in LA
-Drank two redlines within ten minutes. Oh, the stomach pain.

Yeeee, scored some records. Most notably, Jason Molina. Very psyched.
